A Wonderful Dinner
A great success tonight--our second annual Food for Thought Dinner. Our first one was held last July, but we decided to move it to March to celebrate our anniversary, which was March 6th.
We had a great response to the invitations, and successfully raised thousands of dollars for the DMSC. Fred Gazzo and the Metropolitans, Dan Trilk and Mary McAdams were all charming musical performers. Divine Flowers by Sayley did an incredible job with the decorations, and Carlos Garza and Jessica Miller deserve enormous credit and thanks for putting it all together.
Chef Hal Jasa prepared an incredible three-course meal which met with universal plaudits.
We had a volunteer army that, combined with the bartending staff of the Sideshow Lounge, made for a delightfully smooth and elegant event. And thanks to corporate donors who bought out some of our tables, we had folks whose first experience with the Des Moines Social Club was this spectacular fete.
For those who came, we thank you for your support. For those who couldn’t make it this year, we’ll see you next time!
Best,
M

Welcome to the DMSC Blog
Welcome to the Artistic Director’s corner of the DMSC cyberscape. I’m Matthew McIver, the Artistic Director of the Des Moines Social Club. From time to time I’ll use this corner of the interwebs to update you on what we’re doing and give you inside tidbits on the goings-on here at DMSC World HQ, 1408 Locust Street.
I’ll keep this first post short and add more as we go. Welcome to DMSC. If you haven’t spent some time on the website, check out www.desmoinessocialclub.org. If you haven’t been down to our space, come down and have a drink in the Sideshow Lounge. See some art in the Instinct Gallery, or check out a show in the Black Box Theater. If I’m around, introduce yourself--I’d love to meet you down at the DMSC,
Peace,
Matt
